Analisa Strategi Marketing PT. Jamu Simona Indonesia dan Saran Perluasan Pangsa Pasar

Abstrak
Krisis keuangan pada bulan Juli 1997 berdampak negatif pada ekonomi dan bisnis di Indonesia. Krisis keuangan yang dimulai dengan devaluasi rupiah, berdampak besar pada industri Indonesia khususnya industri bahan baku impor yang tinggi. Hanya industri dengan kandungan bahan baku lokal atau dengan produk yang dapat menggantikan produk impor dan yang akan diekspor memiliki peluang lebih besar untuk bertahan. Sebagai akibat dari krisis keuangan banyak orang dipecat dan menjadi pengangguran, sehingga mengurangi pendapatan dan daya beli konsumen. Di lain sisi, harga kebutuhan pokok dan obat-obatan naik sangat tinggi. Dalam situasi ini, obat-obatan tradisional atau jamu dengan kandungan bahan baku lokal tinggi sangat diminati oleh orang kalangan bawah. Saat ini, di mana harga obat-obatan mahal orang akan mencoba untuk menjaga kesehatan mereka daripada mengobati penyakitnya nanti. Selama orang berpegang teguh pada prinsip ini, peluang obat-obatan tradisional berkembang dengan baik karena pada prinsipnya jamu adalah pengganti obat-obatan yang berfungsi untuk meningkatkan kesehatan dan untuk menyembuhkan penyakit dengan harga yang lebih murah. Penelitian ini diawali dengan implementasi analisis siklus hidup produk (product life cycle), dilanjutkan dengan analisis kekuatan dan kelemahan produk kemudian analisis SWOT dan diakhiri dengan analisis portfolio.
